This broad-bladed sword made of sturdy laminated wood with bound black handle and accompanying shield (designs vary) is one of our most popular choices with boys of all ages.  Our most memorable occasion was at a Junior Highland Games event at Gordonstoun School where the outer arena was awash with young kilt clad heroes play sword fighting with our swords (we so wish we had had a camera with us!).
